Since I was nine or ten, I have scrapbooked. It started with a big screwpost album with black pages. I worked with a gluestick and a silver pen.

I loved the idea of saving photographs and scraps of paper. I wanted to go places and plan events just so I had something to make a layout about.

I still use gluesticks. I still plan stuff just to make stuff. But now, my primary method of documentation is little books. Small scrapbooks that can be started and finished on the same day OR serve as a collection center for a variety of photos, paper + words over time.

My books usually focus on a single idea or event. They are sometimes linked by color or a season. They can be very simple or very involved.

There are over 50 of these books in my collection and I currently store them in two large baskets. Each book tells a story and each book is unique. They are my absolute favorite craft project.

Here is a blog post I wrote in July 2009 about making minibooks.

A catalog of most of my collection can be seen here. More detailed photos of each book coming soon.
